This dialect, spoken in southern Spain, is the second-most popular in the country
after Castilian. However it differs greatly from northern Spanish in the ceceo/seseo distinction, the emission (“elision”) of the consonants ‘d’ and ‘r’, the aspiration of the consonant ‘s’ at
the end of words, and the dropping of final consonants. These factors result in a softer and more fluid sound than that of other Spanish dialects.

El Instituto Cervantes es la institución pública creada por España en 1991 para promover universalmente la enseñanza, el estudio y el uso del español y contribuir a la difusión de las culturas hispánicas en el exterior. En sus actividades, el Instituto Cervantes atiende fundamentalmente al patrimonio lingüístico y cultural que es común a los países y pueblos de la comunidad hispanohablante. Está presente en 87 centros distribuidos en 44 países por los cinco continentes. Además, cuenta con dos sedes en España, la sede central de Madrid y la sede de Alcalá de Henares.
The Cervantes Institute is a worldwide non-profit organization created by the Spanish government in 1991.[1] It is named after Miguel de Cervantes (1547–1616), the author of Don Quixote and perhaps the most important figure in the history of Spanish literature. The Cervantes Institute, a government agency, is the largest organization in the world responsible for promoting the study and the teaching of Spanish language and culture.
DÍA DEL ESPAÑOL
El Día E o Día del Español es una conmemoración festiva promovida por el Instituto Cervantes desde 2009, que tiene lugar el sábado más próximo al solsticio de junio, y cuyo objetivo es difundir la cultura del español, celebrar su importancia en el mundo y fomentar la unidad de sus hablantes.
